What can I be as a profession if my hobbies are to read about nutrition in foods?

Question by Miss Y: What can I be as a profession if my hobbies are to read about nutrition in foods?
I love cooking, especially when I add ingredients that I know are good for me. I thought about creating a book / ebook in connection with this subject, but I’m currently in school economics. I know a little off, but I thought while I’m in school to learn about these things before I get old.

You could go to school to be a dietitian or nutritionist. Usually, they work in nursing homes or hospitals advising patients on eating habits. Sounds like it could be a good career for you.

What water parameter is considered safe for coral and fish and what kind of nutrition for coral?

Question by socutemolly: What water parameter is considered safe for coral and fish and what kind of nutrition for coral?
What do I need test kits for corals?

Best answer:

Answer by reefer150gallon
Kind of in the deep end but just at a glance a superb article on water chemistry on Reef Keeping Magazine

The article may be daunting but its nothing to be worried about.

Ive summarised what kind of kits there are and what you shud buy and the normal mesure you should try to achieve for long term sucess.

Essential

Salinity – Measured with Refractometer (Expensive but more acurate and reliable) or a Hydrometer Salinity 1.026 can be lower if only keeping fish e.g 1.023
Ph – Test Kit Ph 8.3 – 8.4 Should be adjusted with a buffer
Alkalinity – Test Kit 2.5-4 meq/L Helps Keep Ph Stable with buffers
Temp – Digital or Normal Thermometre Reef System 25-26C
Saltwater Fish Only 25-26C
Ammonia – Test Kit Should <0.1 ppm
Nitrate - Test Kit < 0.2 ppm
Nitrite - Test Kit < 0.2 ppm

Ammonia, Nitrate & Nitrite Test Kits are needed when you cycle your tank or start it off in the Nitrogen Cycle

Essential For Keeping Corals
Calcium - Test Kit 380-450 ppm
Alkalinity - Test Kit 2.5-4 meq/L Also helps with skeletal growth

Trace Elements - Not Needed But Advised for longer term sucess many products available mixed suppliments easy to use - Just Add contains Strontium ,Magnesium Iodine etc etc not sumthing ya really shud test individually

In addition you may consider adding trace elements or target feeding individual corals with meaty foods depending on what it is

Also check out www.reefcentral.com very useful join up its free all members with decades of knowledge and experience who more than willing to help ya out step by step about anything no matter how minute it is . Can give ya opinions about your tank what your missing what you got wrong what your doing right all updated regularly.

Most of all take it slow only bad things happen fast in this hobby.
With the inhabitants look at it from the perspecive of if you can keep it happy then purchase it. Do a little research it pays off and saves a lot of money beforehand and stress of loosing fish.

Its may sound like a bit of work but once in a routine there is nothing to it . Having fun is also the most important.

Q&A: What to do cause im confused about nutrition?

Question by huskies r: What to do cause im confused about nutrition?
What size servings? And when it says, on how I should just 110 calories, the calories for that, or do I need to get out of the servings per bottle?

Best answer:

Answer by ♫♥ Love 2 laugh ♥♫
You need to look at the servings per container. Take cereal for example. It says 110 calories per serving. Say the serving is 3/4 of a cup. That’s not very much so you need to measure out how much you eat plus milk. So if you had two servings without milk you would have had around 220. Also, if you look at a ramen package it will say a certain amount of calories and fat and then it will say there are two servings in that package. So if you eat the whole package it’s double the calories and fat listed. Hope you understood this and it helps. :)

I’m not sure it’s what you’re looking for, but I hope this helps. Good luck doing P90X. Oh, speaking from experience, don’t eat brownies or any sweets before trying the workouts, my coach decided to surprise the team one day with this workout right after all of us just finished eating a big lunch and the results were…disastrous.

scientist ground up the food but first they dry it out. But once they dry it out they grind it up and they put in test tubes and put water and other chemicals in it to figure out other nutrition facts. Q&A: How are ingredients labeled on a nutrition facts label?

Question by haphazard_artist: How are ingredients labeled on a nutrition facts label?
Alphabetically? Greates at least healthy? I need this for my class, please & thank you.

Best answer:

Answer by Samantha
they are labelled by the most used in the product…if you see say if you bought a ginger cookie…and butter, sugar flour would all be listed before ginger as they are the most used ingredients…this is why sometimes we see sugar and water at the top of the list and then the things that the label is promoting such as ginger closer to the end of the list usually with a percentage…
when you read the name of the product for instance…’strawberry youghurt’…make sure you check the ingredients you may find that strawberries is one of the fewer used ingredients and sometimes real strawberries arent used purees or extracts can be used…
