Answer by Irene F
I don’t know of a website like that. The only one I know of is the USDA’s database, which will calculate the nutritional information for each kind of food:

Best answer:

Answer by Michelle
It is true that sports nutrition is biology, but every body’s chemical composition is unique. Some people have problem abosrbing different vitamins/minerals, and some bodies take in too much. The effectiveness of different diets, supplements, and muscle builders all depends on the unique genetic factors people are born with.

Question by : where can i report a daycare with poor nutrition?
My little brother and sister have gone to a day care center in the state of Texas. They love the children and teachers, but the menu is absolutley horrible! My mother has already said that, to give them fresh fruit and vegetables. What really bothers my mother and me is that both children are often almost the whole day without eating. (Both are finicky eaters) Please know all mothers where to report this?

Best answer:

Answer by Amber
Many day cares participate in a food program. The menu consists of a protein, grain, and 2 servings of fruit/veggies, and white milk. It’s our responsibility to offer these foods. Some don’t provide a lot of variety and use lots of canned goods, especially centers. We can not force a child to eat nor can we be a short order cook for a picky eater. It’s just not possible. There is the option that a meal can be sent with the children. Most directors/teachers will allow this if it’s healthy. If there is a concern that the staff is using food…(not allowing eating) for punishment then yes, you can report it. Get on your State’s main web page and get the liscensing regulations for day care centers and there will be a phone number on them. If you continue to be unhappy, maybe your family should look for other care. Home based programs often provide much more healthy and varied meals…though once again, we can’t make a child eat.

What do you think? Answer below!

Question by Kim: How long would it take me to earn a ph.D in dietetics and nutrition?
I am a junior in high school at the moment. I’m planning on majoring in dietetics to become a nutritionist and I will probably attend Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. After RD-certified, I’m not sure if I pursue a college degree. How long would it take to earn a master’s or doctoral degree in dietetics? And the additional education is worthwhile in the long run?

Best answer:

Answer by Ranto
A Master’s degree usually takes one or two years after a BS.

There is no set time limit for a PhD. Very few people do it in less than four years after a bachelor’s degree — and some take seven or eight years.

PhD students usually take three years of classes, take a written exam at the end of the second year & an oral exam at the end of the third. Then they start writing a dissertation. I started mine in my third year & took 18 months to finish it. I know people who took years.

Once the dissertation is done, your committee has to sign off on it. This is usually done at the Dissertation Defense.
