Question by Love Ellis: How much nutrition is lost from fish that has been frozen, thawed, and cooked VS. cooked fresh fish?
I recently ordered fish for dinner at a restaurant and knew it was previously frozen and then thawed before being cooked. I also have fresh fish for dinner before at another restaurant, and it got me thinking about the food I eat much more of the fresh fish vs. got the frozen and thawed fish. Does anyone know?

Best answer:

Answer by celestial clockwork
Actually not that much at all. You may notice difference in texture and perhaps in flavor. But the rest stays the same, depending on how long it was frozen for.

Answer by Jazkabor
Ha ha. Of course not. But BK has the fattiest mayo in any fast food chain. I always ask for no mayo so i can eat there. Seriously check out men,s health EAT THIS NOT THAT. It is really great. And every restaurant has dietary info for all food on there web sites. I think that became a law a while ago. Check out all your fav places I do and then I know when I am craving what to pick that is my fav and not going to kill me.

Question by AJ: How does Amanita muscaria get its nutrition?
Mushroom is a fungus. His heterotrophic, but I do not know the exact source of his power.

Best answer:

Answer by gardengallivant
Mushrooms are mycorrhizal with plants, including most Amanitas. This fungus forms ectomycorrhizal interactions with various conifers like spruce or deciduous like quaking aspen. Amanita absorbs its nutrients in part from the tree symbiont and in part from the soil. The tree provides photosynthates and other substances the plant manufactures in return for water an mineral uptake from the extensive hyphal spread the fungus provides.
