Question by Steve: What’s a good controversial topic about nutrition, food, or diet that I could discuss in a six page paper?
I must argue two issues, so that it is still controversial. I can not think of anything. The work was attempted, “the two sides” best answer gets 10 points in the next 30 minutes.

    High fructose corn syrup in just about every processed food…

    Pro – helps feed more people…
    Con – empty calories, linked to obesity, etc.

    Some people have unusual healthy diets, like raw food only. They end up taking in less calories than they need but they say they feel great.

    You could argue about hunting, whether the nutritional benefits merit the killing of free, wild animals.

    There’s currently a debate going on whether drinking milk really helps you lose weight.

    And there’s always a back and fourth between natural medicine and western medicine over whether what you eat makes any difference in chronic illnesses. For instance, some people are saying sensitivity and allergy to certain foods causes autism, but most doctors are not passing this information on to their patients.
