To work out how many calories each component of the food contains, you need to know how many calories per gram each component contains. Fat has 9 calories per gram and carbs and protein have around 4 calories per gram. Then it’s a matter of simply multiplying the weight of each component by the number of calories….

So: 2.5 g of fat = 22.5 calories. I’ll leave you to do the protein and carbs…

To lose weight but remain healthy, an overweight adult needs to eat between 1200 to 1600 calories per day, but these calories should come from balanced meals!
